Changing or cancelling a ticket: what to know

Why the airline rules matter more than the agent, and how to avoid surprises.

Every ticket follows the fare rules of the airline. Your agent cannot change those rules, but a good agent explains them before you pay.

  • Date change: usually a change fee plus any fare difference.
  • Name correction: small spelling fixes are sometimes allowed; a new name is not.
  • Refund: some fares are non-refundable; others refund part of the price after fees. Airline refunds can take weeks.
  • No-show: if you miss a flight without telling the airline, you may lose the rest of the ticket.

Tell us as early as possible when your plans change — more options are open earlier.
